At no point have I felt I was dealing with an AI, but rather a genuine living creature - This achievement alone must be celebrated. The unscripted, procedural nature of your interaction with the guardian is remarkably successful, and as piece of gaming concept, it is the most refreshing, and intelligent leverage of the video-game medium I have had the pleasure to experience in a long long time - Indeed, your interaction with the guardian seamlessly serve both the story and game-play needs. The dreamworld visuals are truly awe inspiring, the animations are some of the greatest and most expressive I have yet to see, and the physics impress. Yet, and perhaps more importantly, as an adventure, it is unique, memorable, and enchanting. The camera is at times indeed problematic, the frame rate is bad, and the controls leave a lot to be desired. The camera is at times indeed problematic, the TLG is a repetitive and slightly tedious platformer, intertwined with lackluster puzzle design. TLG is a repetitive and slightly tedious platformer, intertwined with lackluster puzzle design. This is probably why they harp on about the delays. There are nitpicks and buggy things like any game, but nothing about it has convinced me there’s anything legitimately poorly made or broken. You had 0 monetary investment in this so why even care how long it took? Performance wise, nobody can objectively say it’s a bad game. Its not like this is a kick starter game that took 10 years to make. Actually, **** those who use that as an argument. People are lighting into it due to the 10 year wait, and i'm like "Is that really a valid argument?" I'd say no. Everything in the promotional material makes it clear that this creature was programmed to not do that. It's basically all the player's fault if they expected Trico to follow their commands immediately. Everyone getting this game should have known what they were getting into. Spamming the controls like a moron will cause Trico to essentially lock up. Does this game control poorly? No it really doesn't. I think this developer has always been about experiencing their surroundings and characters. In Shadow of the Colossus and Ico the stories are blatant "wtf just happened here?" head scratchers. Team Ico games never have a story that is fully spelled out. People complain about this game's lack of story. Team Ico games Short review: Just because people are inept doesn't make this a bad game.
